Destinations

Where can Grand Passages take you? With onsite experience in 21 countries and counting, I can take you almost anywhere you are dreaming of! The following are specialties.

United States

I am proud to call the beautiful and diverse United States my home. I love it all, from our vibrant cities - New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles - to wide open spaces. I have laughed and cried standing before art works in Chicago, meeting characters at Walt Disney World, and while looking at hundred-year-old Saguaro cacti in Arizona. In the words of another literary American, Walt Whitman, "I contain multitudes." Literary inspirations: Mark Twain and Cheryl Strayed.

Great Britain

I consider Great Britain my second home.  I have spent some of my happiest days wandering the Churchill War Rooms and the Tate Museums.  Hiking the entirety of Hadrian's wall is on my bucket list.  The luxurious tradition of afternoon tea, the untamed wilderness of the countryside, and the best rock and pop music on the planet keep me coming back.  You and I may not be wizards, but I'll do my best to make your trip magical!  Literary inspirations: Shakespeare and JK Rowling.

France

France is my husband's favorite destination and, thus, one of mine.  We have stretched into the outer arrondissements of Paris in search of the city's best croissants and spent a spiritual day in Normandy, awed by the Bayeux Tapestry and WWII history.  The Louvre is like a country of its own, and I skipped the crowds at the Mona Lisa to stand in front of the Winged Nike with goosebumps covering my arms.  France is the perfect destination for a honeymoon or anniversary, but I will find a reason to go regardless of the occasion.  Literary inspirations: Voltaire and Simone de Beauvoir.

Switzerland

The romantic peaks of the Alps and the crystal clear lakes of Switzerland are unforgettable.  The water in Swiss rivers and lakes is so clean you can drink it, which I did on a late night dip in Zürich.  I love the taste of France in Lausanne, the German and Austrian influence in the north, and the Mediterranean-feel of the south.   Their chocolate, wine, and cheese are three excuses to keep going back.  Literary inspirations: Herman Hesse and Thomas Mann.

Germany

I was a German major in college, so I find the medieval clocktowers and cobblestone streets to be romantic.  Wanderlust is a German word, which may explain why I love it so much.  The World War II history in Berlin drew me in immediately, as did the desserts of picturesque towns in the Black Forest.  When I visit again, I plan to take river cruise during the wine harvest.  Literary inspirations: Bertolt Brecht and Hannah Arendt.

Egypt

Of all the places I've been lucky enough to visit, the experience of visiting Egypt is one I almost can't believe I've had.  From the adventurous trek up the Robbers' Tunnel of the Great Pyramid to the off-the-beaten-path experiences of visiting Queen Nefertari's tomb, Egypt must be seen to be believed.  A perfect destination for both the adventurous - how about a hot air balloon ride over the desert? - and the curious, I can't wait to go back.  Literary inspirations: Naguib Mahfouz and Agatha Christie.
